Portugal: an interesting gap in our European Royalty

As part of a small project tracing the descendants of Edward III, it has been noted that we have a big gap in our Wikitree royalty, the Portuguese house of Aviz. This family is highly inter-married with European royalty, including the English, Spanish, Austrian etc etc.

Anyone interested in learning about this subject or just wanting to make sure Wikitree has a good royal family tree, might be interested to use the project's summary of the descendants of Joao and Phillipa: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:A_table_of_descendants_of_Edward_III#Phillipa_and_her_Iberian_line

This table already suggests some of the key people needed and gives links to more handy information on websites such as MEDLANDS and Genealogics.

As missing royals are created, it would also be perfect if a note could be put here or somewhere on that project page, so we can keep track of the work done.

Anyone editing or adding profiles, please remember that Wikitree guidelines state that names, both personal names and place names, should be in the language of the person (which might mostly be Portuguese)

Many of the existing profiles are currently named incorrectly in English; for instance the name of the dynasty should be Avis, Aviz is the English equivalent.
John, actually getting the names right might actually be one of the main reasons people are reluctant to spend time on it? So maybe we can use those Edward III summaries in this case as a place to propose the best names to use for example. The red letter people on those pages have no article, and the names they have been given are either just quick notes or else based off Richardson and/or MEDLANDS and/or Genealogics. See for example: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:A_table_of_descendants_of_Edward_III#Philippa_and_her_Iberian_line

Isabella was Edward III's oldest child with descendants. Her grand-daughter, Jeanne de Bar (4th gen from Edward) had a de Luxembourg family which is incomplete in Wikitree. Genealogics, MEDLANDS. Here is a list of her children in the 5th generation from Edward III, who apparently have modern descendants:

I don't understand what you mean by modern descendants.

I am cousin to 8 profiles under Isabella:

Luxembourg -14, 40,127; Kleve-32:  6c12x          Croy-137:   5c18x

Luxembourg-41, 45:  7c11x           De_Bar-45:  5c13x

A cousin is not a descendant.

If I'm not mistaken, Eleanor of Castille had ancestors on her mom's side of the family from Portugal. Maybe her father's too.

I'm not so sure there were any links to Portugal on her mother's ancestry, but definitely on her fathers.
