merging children's profiles for Roelif Elting & Sarah Du Bois - Jemina/Jemima and Jacomyntje are the same person?

I was going to propose a merge of Elting-33 and Elting-17, but if Jemina & Jacomyntje are the same person... they & Elting-19 should each merge into Elting-1. So.. it looks like just one person: Jemina Jacomyntje Elting (christened 1706 & married 1733 to William C.)  Give a holler if you think these are two different daughters, otherwise I'll propose the merges this weekend.

Cheers, Liz

seems like they're different people... I'll leave them for the profile managers to sort out!  Thanks Rob!
Actually, I think all 4 of the individuals are the same person, and have found another reference in the first work I cited (page 484) that states Roelif Elting's will probated in 1747 and amongst other details leaves certain sums to Jacomyntje wife of Wm. Codebec.

Looking at some of the other family branches of the Elting family "Jemima" appears to be an anglicized version of Jacomyntje.

Also I missed the child James in my previous post... combining the two sources would give us:

Father: Roelif Elting(e) (bap. 27 Oct 1678, m.1703, d bet 1745 and 1747)

Mother: Sarah Du Bois

Siblings (not necessarily in order): i.Noah (b.1721); ii. Josias (bap. 12 Oct 1712) iii. Abraham; iv.Johannes "John"; v.Margaretta "Margaret" (m Abraham Bevier); vi. Cattrina

Spouse: William Cuddeback (m.8 Apr 1732 s/o Jacob Cuddeback & Margaret Provost)

Children. i. James; ii. Abraham; iii. Benjamin; iv. Roulif; v. Sarah

Of note the children name James, Abraham, and Benjamin are all also names of siblings of William Cuddeback. Roulif and Sarah correspond to the names of Jacomyntje's parents.

@LIZ - Make sure you read the bottom of this post.

Liz - I know you were working on the Joost Jansen van Meteren who also married a Sara Du Bois so it caught my eye when I say those names in the register for Kingston, Ulster (first linked source). I didn't check for all entries, but baptisms 329, 466, 616, and 863 jumped out at me.

Wow Rob- Thanks SO MUCH!! Always love it when you drop by the New Netherland Settlers :D

Cheers, Liz

Jacomyntje d/o Roelif and Sarah is mentioned in http://archive.org/stream/historyofnewpalt01ralp#page/482/mode/2up She is born in New Paltz, N.Y. There is also a cousin named Jacomyntje Elting who marries Noah s/o Roelif and Sarah.

http://www.archive.org/stream/historyofdeerpar00guma#page/44/mode/2up gives William Cuddeback, and Jemima Elting marriage date as 8 April 1732. Their children are given as: Abraham (m. Esther Gumaer); Benjamin (m. Catharine van Fliet); Roulif; Sarah (m, Daniel van Fliet). Page 41 specifies that Jemima was "of the Old Paltz"

As far as the discrepancy between New Paltz and Old Paltz... the Gazetteer of the State of New York published in 1824, indicates the village that we now identify as New Paltz in the township of New Paltz was usually called "Old Paltz".
