Merging an adopted profile with one that has already been created by me

I had just completed the basic information for John Miles Duncan, Duncan-8757, and the after it was saved, I found an orphaned match Duncan-273. It asked me to adopt it, so I did, but now I have 2 John Miles both owned by me and I don't know how to merge them.  Also, I don't know if there are another orphaned Duncan Family members that I already have, and how to merge them with my existing profiles without adopting them first. ( Unless I have to adopt them first)

It's a good thing to adopt a profile and then merge it because it's very simple to do.  After you've adopted it, just go to the bottom of one of the profiles and click on "Initiate merge".  If both of the profiles have the same surname, as you show in this case, just enter the profile ID for the other profile in the box provided and then complete the merge by clicking the merge box.  If the two surnames are different you need to be careful which name comes first as (I Think) the second name is the one which will be the final surname.  When there are two identical surnames the one with the lowest number is the final profile surname.
