Basic Profile Data fields

+7 votes
I'm new, but have researched my family history for many years (20 ish). I'm taking a look at Wikitree to see if I like it so I can move all my info in to it.

I've reviewed the basic info in a profile and it is missing two items of information that I would have expected to be there, especially given the focus on recording sources.

1. Baptism  / Christening date as opposed to Date of Birth

2. Funeral Date as opposed to Date of Death

Any reason why they are not in the basic data? They would be useful to record information. Its also an issue for recording the location of the event vs the where it was registered....

I have been putting the christening date if different from birth date and the burial information in the notes / bio field.  A lot of gedcom imports make christenings birth dates when imported and for some locations in the world and older records the only birth information is generally coming from church records of christenings.  Perhaps one of the programmers for this site will have a better answer for you, but of all the entries I have made really less than 10% have a different date or location for christening than birth and that is probably because I deal with a lot of older and foreign data.
