We now have a new tool to ID potential collaborators

First of all  Big Kudos and another thank you to Chris Whitten.  I ask for a system change just days ago and it is now a reality.  Here is how you use it.  It is particularly helpful for distant ancestor.  Mine was 8 generations away and there were virtually no collaborators.  I tried using the Family List feature and it was a struggle. Thanks to Chris, it now identifies active members.  Sort your list in birth date order and work from the bottom up.  I started out with a file of 1094 profiles.  I was able to quickly find a person who represents a new branch of my immigrant's tree.  He had eight children but we had only identified researcher in 6 branches.  The person we found is not extremely active on Wikitree but he has a high profile Ancestry account.  We would not have been able to have done this without the improvement.

I have a Chauncey Barnes who married Lura Skiff in February, 1820. Lura was born in 1798 in Litchfield, CT. Lura traces back to James Skiff of England who was in the USA in 1637 or earlier.

Do you have Chauncey Barnes in your data base?
Sorry Frank.  I have no Chauncey's.  It is highly unlikely that Chaucey descends from Brinsley  or Solomon.  His age would have made him more like a child and than a grandchild for Brinsley. I would rule that out.  Solomon is a mystery we can only document when he bought and owned land for a short while in Orange,NC.  In 1798 Solomon is firmly established in NC, so I would rule him out as well.  We do not know whether he was English or Irish.  Good records on him do not appear until she first paid taxes in Old Burke (now Alexander Co.) in 1771
