Any info on my great great grandmother, Ellen Champion who married John James?

I am tracing my family history and my grandfather Frank Harold Osborne (who I never met due to his divorce soon after my father born) had a grandfather named Frank Champion - but rumour has it that he changed his surname to his wifes (Ellen Champion). He died in South Africa but our family and he would have been Australian until then.

I will be able to assist you,  I have researched both the GUDGEON and OSBORNE families.  Dorothy Elfrida Gudgeon was my great Aunt.  My research of the GUDGEON family is more extensive, but I did look at the OSBORNE family at Muriel's request.
