I opine, 2 different families. I have researched for 35 + years now and find both families in the British Isles.

I have performed Ancestry DNA (autosomal) and FTdna (Y Chromosome).

Results Autosomal, 56% Scandinavian 35% Central European 7% British Isles and 2% uncertain.

Y Chromosome- R1b1a2 at 67 markers.

Both seem to match my paper genealogy, as I understand the "spit" test results.

I urge all Bittle's to do both tests.
