Minor tweak in the data field arrangement, on the edit page. ??

The data fields for birth place and death date seem to have changed places.

The list used to be
Birth Date
Birth Place
Death Date
Death Place

Now reads
Birth Date
Death Date
Birth Place
Death Place

Is the non-logic of this driving anyone else crazy? Or is it the cold in my head?

No, Anne, it is very illogical! And makes it necessary to jump around to complete field. Should be changed back to the original birth date and place followed by death date and place.
Thanks, been meaning to ask myself.
I was wondering if it got tweaked when the Language field got inserted?
It's been that way since we added the improved search to prevent duplicates, remember? The search is great and does help prevent diuplicates and I think maybe that is why the dates go first (at that point there's a comparative search) and then you proceed. The duplicate options can change when you add the places though. It drives me nuts too. Typically I just adjust and keep going but for some reason I haven't been able to get used to this.

If it didn't affect the search function, I would love to see it changed as well.
So, who is the person that can fix this problem and is it fixed yet?
It would be the buck stops here person, Chris Whitten, and there have to be enough of us bothered by it. And someone suggested there was a reason for it, so maybe it needs to stay that way. And it's definitely not fixed yet.
It's now been switched back. :-)
Thanks, Chris!!!!!
Thank you from me also. Blowing kisses at you. !
Thanks Chris. It makes things so much easier.
Thanks Chris, this makes adding the information flow  easier than switching back and forth.

Absolutely driving me crazy. And really easy to get location on the wrong line. Date and place should be kept together.

I actually like the new placement. When using the suggested list of place names it helps keep the dates in vies and that could make a difference in the place name that should be used. But yes it did seem strange when I first noticed it.

It's driving me crackers, too.  Everywhere else (including the software on your desktop) does the datelocation datelocation as opposed to the datedate location location thing.  I do hope it changes back.

It's driving me nuts too, after entering them in a specific order for so long, especially when you enter only one, dob and place and hit save _ Warning the death date you entered .... - because I didn't enter a death date, I entered a birth place.

But what drives me even more nuts, is the drop down list for LOCATION in these fields.  I am so sick of seeing British Colonial America 1620-1643, which IMHO is pure fiction.  I liked it better when I didn't see these options at all!!!

Couldn't agree with you more about British Colonial America. I turned off the suggestions this morning.
You can TURN THEM OFF???  How, I've only seen the box that says you don't have to use them.

Numerous deeds, wills, probate records in the PGM profiles, and I have yet to see a single one that said British Colonial America, British America  or anything close.  New England, if specified, and nothing else.
Woohoo, thank you for that....I never noticed the option to turn them off before. Before this update I used to just start typing (probably 2-3 letters) then select from the dropdown of text previously typed and job was a good one. Now it's fourteen Coalvilles from all over the world, all in the same language and mines bottom of the pile. Does my head in.

This change, which happened a few days ago, is keeping me confused, too.

You are certainly not alone, Anne.  I don't like it either.

Chiming in - I hate it too.  It seems very non-standard.  The birth information should be kept together, and the death information should be kept together.
