I'm looking for the parents of John Dickson/Dixon (b. c. 1791, m. Elizabeth Thomson/Thompson)?

What country, county and or city was John Dixon born in? What year did he marry Elizabeth and at what location?

He was born in Middlebie, Dumfries, Scotland abt. 1786.  He married Elizabeth Thomson/Thompson 26 Jan 1816 in Canonbie, Dumfries.  According to census he was a cartwright and farmer.  I haven't been able to identify his parents though.  Thanks for any assistance.
