I would like to help you on this one but information given needs some extra items.

As I understand the enquiry James Robbins was either in mechant navy or royal navy. Do you know which?

Can you advise the basis for suggesting date of 26 August 1810.

Also would like supporting date such as date of marriage or birth. Year estimates would do if you have no precise information. Do you know his parents or siblings names or associated dates?

Do you have any land based locations for James, his wife, children, parents, etc?

I don't expect you will have all of thid but just a few items may help.

As best we know James was lost on or about 25 July 1810.  On or around the Sulawesi Tengah, Indonesia. He and his family lived in the Cambridge area of Boston, MA  Our records show that James was a US Merchant seaman. We know nothing more then Date of Birth, March 25 1752, Married to Louis White.  I contacted the national archives in Boston and was told that the records from that time were burned in a late 1800's fire. Also I came across a report to Congress from 1806, (American Seamen Impressed) by James Madison, which shows that a James Robbins had contact with HMS Cambrian but said he had protection. I have no idea what this may mean or what ship he may have been on at this time or even if it is my ancestor. Any help in this matter will be well received.

Thanks
