WikiTree X Support Needed

I'm having a little trouble with the WikiTree X extension this morning.

Specifically, I'm trying to update the profile for John Henry Speas (see link below) with information from his Find-a-Grave memorial.

I keep getting the following error:

No data found. To use WikiTree X, start on an external web page that has person data, such as a FamilySearch Tree profile. More information.

I popped over to a record on FamilySearch and tried an update from there with the same profile, and it worked fine.

Also:

  • I've uninstalled & reinstalled the extension
  • Update Chrome to the latest release
  • Restarted my computer and browser

Any suggestions??

The only time I've seen that error show up was when I was on the picture tab instead of the memorial tab. I'm assuming that's not the case here but figure I would mention it just in case.
Thanks, Debi! No ... I was on the memorial page. Tried it like 43 different times. ;-)

(tried it once more just now ... still not working)
Just tried to do an update to an entirely different profile and had the same result.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Find A Grave changed something recently that broke the extension. We'll get it fixed soon.
Thanks, Justin! I suspected that might be the case. :-)

I've never tried to add a Find-a-grave citation from the memorial itself; I always add them from Family Search.  So I would search for the person from this index:  https://familysearch.org/search/collection/2221801  Then when I find the entry for that person https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVKW-6L37  I use Wikitree X to add the information to the person's Wikitree memorial.   When Wikitree X doesn't work on a particular site (e.g., Rootsweb family trees), I just find a different way to use it.   I hope this makes sense.

Thanks, J!

WikiTree X was working directly from the Find-a-Grave site before. So, I think something must have changed somewhere that created a problem.
