"United States Census, 1920," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MC95-J1Y : accessed 25 Oct 2014), Alvis Dodd in household of L J Dodd, Alvord, Wise, Texas, United States; citing sheet 14A, family 289, NARA microfilm publication T625, FHL microfilm 1821860.

That is one from Family Search, it includes both.  But what is important is the name, household, place and the other specifics.  The title such as "1920 Census" is obviously important but not enough on it's own.

I put the title as an in text citation, e.g. <ref>[US Census 1790]</ref>

and have the complete citation and link in the sources section:

* Source: "United States Census, 1790" index and images, FamilySearch...etc.

When I take them directly off the microfiche, I put all the requisite information in the Sources section and do the title in text.

You can set up the text part either categorically or via a timeline.  After all is said and done, I write out the biography hitting the important points.

I much prefer the whole citation, such as those on family search or other cites.  They often include the link as well.  I see too many profiles where under sources is a simple list that looks like this:

* 1910 census

* 1920 census

* 1930 census

Those sources, IMHO, are useless as they don't provide the Country > Province or State etc > county  > city or town.

So you have to guess if the person lived in the same location as their birth (if that's noted on the profile)  for their entire lives or moved around so you yourself can't find the matching details.
