Looking for any information on surname Hamilton primarily from Seneca Co. Ohio and Columbiana Co. Ohio. May have moved to Ohio from Virginia or Pennsylvania. Cannot find any birth information on my great great great great grandfather James Hamilton born around 1780-1800's . Married Mary Filson in 1819. His son, my 3x grandfather is Davison Filson Hamilton b. 1824-1825, married to Margaret Carson. Davison's son is Simison H. Hamilton, married to Eva Neikirk. They all were farmers I have check census, birth, marriage, death records and multiple other websites to come to a dead end at James. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thankssmiley

I Googled James Hamilton b 1780 and found a questionable but possible match.  Some of the sibblings were b in VA, OH and others in New Philadelphia, Washington, IN.  This family moved around a lot according to the sibbling birth locations.  Not enough information at this site for me to make an accurate identification.  Try asking the same question at Hamilton Family Genealogy Forum it is surname specific and you might find a cousin who knows.
