Which ancestors are wrong? Why do you think so? If they are wrong, who are the correct ones?
I found a New Jersey marriage record on ancestry.com for a 1764 marriage between Joseph De Groot and Elizabeth Williams. That's 5 years before Joost's birth. Right location, right time period. Seems likely that this relationship is probably correct, although it needs to be supported by source citations in WikiTree. Joost was often anglicized to Joseph. Surprisingly, ancestry seems to have a number of source records in relationship with these parties.
Someone more comfortable with Dutch should be involved in sourcing these profiles.
