How to merge two profiles, but both are Project Protected

I've done a lot of merges, but this is the first time I found a case where both were Project Protected.  A merge has been approved, but when I try to merge them, it says that the merge must be reversed.

When I reverse the merge, it says the same thing.  So how does one merge Wyatt-364 into Wyatt-266 (both Nicholas Wyatt) ?

I've removed the PPP and merged the profiles but I've left you the post merge cleanup, since I assume you know what you want to keep

Contact the person who locked the higher numbered profile and ask him to remove the PPP lock. You can find his name under the Changes Tab.

I have contacted the profile manager of the higher numbered profile to get the PPP lock taken off.  However, this profile manager has shown very little activity during the past year.  How long should I wait, and/or should I contact the profile manager of the lower numbered profile if there is no response from the first?

Kenneth, an FYI for the next time this comes up: Profile Managers can't change project protection. That requires a Leader.
