Hi WikiTreers,
One of the essential groups in our community is the WikiTree Rangers. These are the members who take responsibility for protecting our free, shared tree in one or more hour-long shifts per week.
We need a Ranger on duty 24-7.
Right now, the Tuesday Ardenaires and the Wednesday Watchdogs are stretched thin. We also need a couple more Rangers for the Saturday Shamrocks team.
Rangering is easy. I do a shift myself with the Monday Monitors.
It doesn't take your full attention. You can do other things during your shift. You just need to check some key activity feeds every 10 minutes or so. If you spot a "forest fire," you report it.
We don't have a lot of big problems. Most Rangers don't spot anything worrisome. It's just that some problems can get much bigger if they're not stopped right away. That's why we need one member in charge of watching our tree around the clock.
The hard part about getting coverage is the coordination. You need to be there for your shift every week, or let someone know you can't make it.
Will you help?
The only requirements: You need to have been a member for at least three months, and need to participate in at least one other project or otherwise be active in the community. So we know you, and so you know the basics of WikiTree.
Please post here if you might be available. Any day of the week, really. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are the biggest needs, but there are others.
After you post, Eowyn will contact you with more details.
Thank you!
Chris
