Happy week end to All!

I hope everyone had a great & productive week.

I spent my time sourcing profiles on my watch list.

It is starting to look a bit like spring in my neck of the woods....Lenten  roses, daffodils, forsythia & camellias are blooming,  which brightens the spirit!

What's new with you?

I'm so jealous. It's not starting to look like spring in my neck of the woods! :-)

Once again, thanks for leading these chats, Doug.
My pleasure Chris.....I moved south long ago to escape long winters.

Researching a pirate ancestor sounds exciting!
Thank you Star, how kind you f you to mention it. I was very excited when you found out about the story.

Hi Susan. We have a Privateer in the family also; ours out of Bermuda so on a Letter of Marque from Britain. I'd never really thought of how many countries authorized privateers so did a Google search. One of the results s this marvelous model of a 1760-1770 Swedish Privateer.

Hi Debi

I love ve th ships you sens them are so amazing ship. How wonderful you have a pirate in the family it is really exciting

Thank you for sharing

Hi everyone! What a beautiful day here in Nashville. Temps will be in the high 60's and NO rain!!!!  More like a spring day then the normal February weather.

I received a "Thank you" yesterday from a member whom I have been working with for a couple of months now that found part of his family from my Barry contributions back in January 2015. He was able to connect his immediate family to the William and Honora Barry children  born in the mid 1800's in the New England area of the United States.

While trying to find my own Barry connection to Ireland I had traced this family back to Ireland in 1844, then they migrated to the New York area and finally settled in Connecticut. Anyway, I had forgotten about these dozen or so profiles until our newest Barry member joined WikiTree in January of this year (two years later). Immediately he contacted me about these profiles and together we connected them to his new Wiki family tree.

Goes so show you that your work is not in vain when you research and build a tree with "cousins" you may not be directly connected to but in the same surname when someone comes along and says, hey that's my family!!!!! Of course I turned over these profiles to his management and still keep in contact with him to see how far back these generations will go.

Well, we're supposed to have rain here in the Phoenix area this weekend, but hopefully not as much as they've been having in the northern California area.  It's cooler this week here and it'll only be in the 60s and 70s instead of the 80s like we had a week or two before.

Both of the two Toastmaster clubs I belong to had their spring contests this past week and I was a judge in another club last week.  At my lunchtime club on Wednesday I agreed at the last minute to participate in the Tall Tales contest so that we could have a real contest and so I came up with a tall tale about being a were-snake (don't know if they exist in mythology or not.) The other contestent then didn't speak long enough (the have to be 2.5-5.5 minutes to qualify) so I won by default and now I have to come up with a polished version to use on the 15th or so of next month.  And my wife was the only contestant in the club we both attend so she also goes to the Area Contest which I think is on the 10th.  So we'll probably start practicing the speech with each other soon.

On the geneology front, I've mostly been entering and sourcing my Millers which I'm about halfway through with (for the first round in any case.)  I'm just glad I wasn't able to enter it as a gedcom.  Though I am feeling that I should enter a small gedcom on some isolated family just to see if it's as hard to clean them up on WikiTree as it was the couple of times I tried working on gedcoms others sent me which I turned into FamilyTreemaker files.

We are starting a period of at least 8 days with over 50 degree highs, tying a record set in 2006. I got some slightly good news from my doctors, They are not planning on surgery. This is tempered with their plan of Physical therapy 2 to 3 times a week for at least 8 weeks and a lot of prescription drugs for the next 3 months. The problem is the medication makes me sleepy. That means no driving and less time to work on WikiTree for at least the next 3 months.

Spring-like weather still continues ... it's February!!  Played golf this week with some old friends ... emphasis on 'old'!

On WikiTree I'm still pluggin' along with the 'Jewetts of America' book.  Also working on the Grosse Ile Canadian History sub-project.  And checkin' out things folds do/add to profiles I manage ... folks are getting better and better.  If they add a source I may move it a bit as I like 'em in chronological order ... it's my anal personality!

That's 'bout it.

Greetings from Hungary! Try to be familiar with this site, not really can use it at this moment, but will improove myself.

I have been working on  my family tree 8 years ago. Several ancestor playing hide and seek with me. Specially the Hollentunders are good players.

Have a nice weekend

Erika
@Bob: Putting sources in chronological order is actually very useful when it comes time to write a biography. I would even suggest that that would be a preferred ordering for any profile.
I like to list sources in chronological order, too.  It helps me see more easily if I am missing a source I would expect to find.
