In my desperation to find the family of origin of my own Herrick I have been puzzling over Herrick's in NY, New England and Pennsylvania.
I found two candidates for the Notables project
Ebenezer Herrick was a politician, representing the state of Maine in US House of Rep, among other things. His son Anson later represented NYS in the House of Representatives. Both have articles on wikipedia.
