Problem when adding tree.

I added a GEDCOM of a subtree of about 40 people, with William Ripley (Ripley-1076) and Lydia RIng at the top. They had about a dozen children which I also added. William and Lydia both already had existing profiles on WIkiTree. When I went through the acceptance step, I marked William and Lydia as duplicates which did not need to be added.

The dozen children were added, but they were not linked to William Ripley as their father, though they were linked to Lydia.  What did I do wrong?

Yep as you describe it it should happen. Unfortunately you have to do the connections manually where profiles were skipped. The import does not make the connections to existing profiles.
