I am trying to find more information on my great grandmother and her husband, I know that she was a johnson before she married, and I think that her mother was a lee before she married, I can't remember how many children she has my grandfather was JK Chambliss but I think that his real name was Vertimen, I think that is how it is spelled, I know she had a daughter called Mable also. Also two more sons Ed and Westley.  If anyone has info I would love to hear it.

Do you have your great grandmother's birth year, marriage year and or the year she died?  Did all these events take place in Purvis MS?

Do you know the year her daughter, Mable was born? Was she born in Purvis MS?
I think she was born in 1898, but forgot the rest, What I am really trying to find out is more about her side of the family,  I can't seem to find her mom ect... But I think all of her kids was born in Purvis.
My grandmother was Missouri Chambliss Davis; her dad was Christopher Columbus Chambliss.  My father was Oscar Davis.  I think we have to be connected, but I am not sure if I can help.  All of my dad's family is from Purvis/Lamar County area.
LOL, I think we found them :) 3 answers in 3 min flat
John and Mary were my great grandparents.  I remember reading about Chris Chambliss, Funny thing is I live right outside of Chatom, I live about 30 miles from where he was hung.  My mother had the court transcrips of his trial but she passed away and I don't know what happend to the paperwork.  J.K. Chambliss was my grandfather and he was married to Lucille Cook,
John & Mary Chambliss are my grandparents. I am West's daughter, Hazel Chambliss Napier. I can remember when Paw Paw Chambliss passed away but I was very young because I was born in 1961. Aunt Mable lived down the road from them & so did Aunt Ruthie.
Yeah I remember when he passed also, I was born in 62, I remember being asleep in the car and woke up at granny's, didn't know where I was for a minute.
