Is there any common descent between the Burch and the Burgess families of Caswell County?

I'm wondering if there might not be some common ancestry between the Burch and Burgess lines in the Caswell County NC or Halifax County, VA area in the colonial period?

My 4th great grandmother, Nancy Burgess,(b about 1750 d. about 1840) had a daughter (Agnes Stuart Burch b. about 1785 d. about 1870) who married a Henry Burch in 1807 in Caswell County, NC.  I know that some branches of Burgess families have gone by the name Burge.  That sounds very close to Burch.  I'm wondering if Agnes' husband Henry Burch may have been a descendant of one of the Burgess lines who became a Burge and then a Burch?  Could Henry Burch have been a distant cousin of Agnes' mother Nancy Burgess?
