Who would like to add Riverboats to The Way West Project?

+5 votes
Just a suggestion, but I think it would be relevant to add Riverboats toThe Way West Project expanding the name and scope to include riverboats. Thousands of pioneers traveled down the Ohio, up and down the Mississippi etc. Many traveled by steamer from St. Louis to Franklin, Mo which was the Eastern terminus of The Santa Fe Trail.

Thanks,  Michael

Hi Michael,

Check out this category; https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Mississippi_River_Migration_and_Settlements

The last time I saw discussion on this, the categorization project was working out how the categories should fit. I believe it was going to be an independent project that covered all riverways, not just in the western United States. You can see the discussion here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/230936/mississippi-river-migration-settlements?show=230936#q230936

Westward Ho! could certainly adopt some of those categories that pertained to westward expansion in the United States. ;-)

I agree. I just worked on a profile that included Riverboat vocation.
