Does anyone have any information about the Staggs family in California around the turn of the century?

Question

My great grandfather is John Staggs and that is where my wikitree ends. He was born in Santa Rosa and died in Butte County in 1963. I just cannot find any information on his parents or anything else on him.

There is an Alfred Staggs (c 1824) listed in the Emigration to Oregon 1852, wagon trains going to Oregon and California. Maybe a relative?
