Hello Douglas and Welcome,
The best way to find whether there are ancestors you share with someone on WikiTree is to continue to add your ancestors. Eventually a match will appear and you will be asked if the suggested match is the same person you are trying to add. Adding your ancestors is really the best way, and I notice you have a good start.
If you are curious as to whether any names match your surnames - go to the find menu and about ⅔ of the way down the list, click on Surnames. Then search for the surnames you are interested in. I am sure there are others here with surnames you will recognize.
It is not a good idea to find an ancestor and then try to build down to yourself.............just keep up what you are doing and you will find an ancestor already here by looking up the tree (it is all one big tree) at the branches that you descend from.
Have fun, donʻt get frustrated and come back with questions any time.
