Some links to Ancestry.com go to publicly available/viewable pages; for others you need to be registered; and for those links requiring registration, some simply require free registration (a login ID and pwd); others require a paid subscription.
Depending on the context of the link (and you didn't say where you found this), it may still be appropriate to link to a paid site if for no other reason than to let you know where it came from.
Ideally, though, we would replace such links with pointers to actual, more original source information.
