Du Bois or DuBois for Francoise m Billou [closed]

Question

a merge of DuBois-207 into Du Bois-24 has been proposed, but if I understood correctly, we were going to go with DuBois for those who came to America. DuBois-780 shows she died in America. So... should we proceed with merges into Du Bois-24 or merge duplicates into DuBois-207 instead? (both are lowest ID number for the name).

Let me know which & I'll designate it "PPP" - the project protected profile.

My thinking was that she adopted her husband''s surname in Europe when she married (unlike the Dutch), so she never used DuBois/du Bois in America.  But if it makes more sense to merge the other way around, it's fine with me.  You understand the issues about merging IDs much better than I do — which way causes problems and which way doesn't.  I support whatever the best way to get there is.  

I made good progress on Chrétien's profile last night including his and his wif'e's correct ancestry.  Of course, I included cross-references to incorrect parents and wives.  I'm about to add some more documentation for some of the old erroneous information.  Yeah!

S'ok - at this point, no probs about which way the merges go, since we haven't really done any on Francoise yet. So Du Bois-24 is as good as DuBois-207.

And I saw the wonderful work you did o Chrétien!
