How do I remove drop down date suggestions for censuses on Firefox?

+4 votes
I include the state the USA census is taken in on all of my sources activity
change explainations.  I now have about 50 suggestions on each entry I
start.  How do I clear out the list from unwanted dates and states so I can
quickly scan just a few for the time frame I am using on a profile?  As you can guess, I am not computer literate so easy instructions would be appreciated.

For each one that you want to get rid of, use the keyboard arrow to go down until that line is hightlighted, then press the delete key. Don't use the mouse for this, keyboard only.

Many thanks.  That will make things go much quicker, and easier.  I  just
cleared out Kansas, Montana, Washington, Minnesota and Michigan and their years and left Ohio where the next ten family entries are concentrated.
