Adding DNA confirmation info.

One of my sisters took autosomal test. She took her's at Ancestry; I took mine at Ftdna. One-to-one compare on Gedmatch shows total 2857.9 cM, longest 263.7 with 40 matching segments. I cannot figure out how to add this info on my page. Also have made multiple matches with cousins on Gedmatch and don't understand how to add the information to my tree when match is made. I read the instructions but can find where to add info to dna info on my page. Also, I have grown my tree. Can I upload new gedcom info and keep what is already up in tact?

Hi Barbara, Both of the answers already given are correct, but may not include all of the information you're looking for.

Information about all of the DNA tests used for the confirmation need to be entered on the profiles of the test-takers, and each of the test-takers’ profiles needs to have a privacy level of at least ‘private with public biography and family tree’ so that people not on the trusted list can see the test information.

You then put a statement on the profile for each child whose relationship to his/her parent(s) is confirmed with DNA, explaining how you used DNA to confirm the relationship. Then on the child's 'edit' page, mark the relationship to the parent(s) 'confirmed with DNA'

Detailed instructions for this procedure can be found on these two pages:

To answer your gedcom question: You can upload a new gedcom and keep the information already here intact, but you should be sure that your gedcom doesn't include any people who are already here on WikiTree, creating duplicates. If you delete the duplicates first, then you have to go back manually after you've added the gedcom to re-connect everyone. It's often better to manually enter each of the additional profiles.

You can enter your FTDNA test ID and your GEDmatch test ID on your profile page. There should be a DNA Connections section with a link that says "DNA test for Genealogy" Click there to add your test info. If you manage your sister's WikiTree profile, you can enter her test IDs on her profile. (Or she can do that if she is also on WikiTree.) Since GEDmatch shows your shared cM are at the full sibling level, you can also enter DNA confirmed to the relationship to both your father and mother on your profile - and your sister's relationship to your parents can also be set to DNA confirmed on her profile page. In both cases a source should be added to both your profile and your sisters that the parents are DNA confirmed based on your full sibling match on GEDmatch.

If you haven't done so, please also set your privacy level of both your and your sister's profile to Private with Public Tree - the recommended setting for people who have DNA tested.

I am not sure of the answer to your question about uploading a new gedcom.

You should add your cousin's GEDmatch ID to their profile on WikiTree.  this will then propagate to your tree (and those of the connections in between, etc.  If you're 3rd cousins or closer you can use the results to confirm the connections between.  If the connection is above 3rd cousin you need to work on triangulation.
