Looking for info on John Scott, father James Scott, son is Walter Scott

I am looking for any info (wife, parents, siblings etc) for James Scott born in 1820's, his son was John Scott born about 1842 and he married Mary Ann Bolton Howes.

In researching your question, I find that four of the children of James Dodd, were not borne by Mary Ann Bolton Howes, but to his former spouse.

Mary's marriage in 1866, from your posted image of John Scott, was in the City of Chester, Parish of St. Oswald. Not Wigan, Lancashire.

I have all of those names in my Scott tree. They seem to be very common. My mother was a Scott who was born & raised in NC. Her ancestors I have traced back to England, Ireland & Scotland. I will review the tree & see if these names pop up..
