Anonymous, you need to be a bit more specific about what you want to know and for best results provide at least the information that you have.  You are otherwise in danger of being told things you already know or not told anything AND we are in danger of wasting our time trying to help you.
Please tell us more...  For example, are you aware of any marriages and/or children ?

The birth record seems right but the census looks a bit dodgy based on age.  I couldn't find any likely entries in the 1851 census and russian emigres with the same name appear in 1871 with no sign of an English born Solomon?

Solomon Barnett was born in 1845. He was a Russian subject from Poland who had become naturalized in 1872. He lived in the East End of London and worked as a glass and lead merchant. His father worked at the cemetery in West Ham. His mother I believe was called Sophia and he was their eldest son.

He married Florence Joseph, daughter of Joseph Joseph silversmith and mineralogist in 1873. They came to live in Kilburn and Solomon worked as a master builder developing much of the new Queens Park district.

Would love to hear about your interest.

You answered your own question instead of commenting on my answer or comment so I never saw this response.  I fluked on it because of your later question...
I don't think the same person is answering or asking the related question here.
Hi - how do you know when he was naturalized? Also trying to find out more about Solomon Barnett's origins in Poland and whether Barnett is an anglicised surname, and if so what his original surname was - do you know anything about that? Many thanks.
I am the great grandson of Solomon Barnett, I have copies of his naturalisation papers. One of his grandsons & his grandaughter are still alive - aged 95 & 93 respectively, I am in touch with both of them.

Hi

I am an Archives Assistant at Brent Archives and I'm delighted to read your comment. My interest was sparked in him when researching the history of a road of mews workshops he built in Queens Park.

I saw the naturalisation papers at the National Archives in Kew and found quite a few references to him and the family in the Jewish Chronicle.

I'd love to hear if any of his business records have survived or any other personal documents that might reveal more about this man who left such a legacy in Kilburn.

My grandmother Aileen nee Brotchie was one of. Solomon Barnett‘s three daughters We have done a little research of the Barnett Brotchie history and I would be keen to swop notes

Great! I am travelling and it will take a little time to dig out our researches but it looks like we are all on same page fact wise. I do have some access to business records of the property assets he developed for the benefit of his daughters which was managed and further developed by my grandfather George Herbert Brotchie (who married Solmon’s daughter Aileen) which took over the assets created initially by Solomon Barnett.

My e-mail is Chrisbrtotchie@msn.com

Correction: my e-mail is ChrisBrotchie@msn.com

Best, Chris Brotchie
I have access to business records of the company that took over the property assets that Solomon Barnett developed in NW6 and were subsequently added to through developments made by George Herbert Brotchie and others.
