I am listed as manager on a profile, but am unable to make any changes to it. [closed]

I am listed as manager on both the profile page and on the privacy page.  However I am unable to change any of the privacy settings. Under "profile manager" section of the privacy page it says I am not the profile manager. How can I be both profile manager and not the profile manager.  I thought maybe this was just a minor glitch and would sort itself out after a day or so but it has not.  The profile is [[Chelton-9|Jim Chelton]] - my father.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.  probably something obvious I am missing.  thanks.

Hi Brian,

It could be that this profile is for an active user. There's an e-mail address and the person created a password. That's makes it their account profile.

An active user is always supposed to be the Profile Manager on their own account profile.

I see that the person removed themselves and added you as the manager. But it's likely that we're doing an extra check when it comes to the privacy setting. We do want an active user to control their own privacy setting. But since they set you as the manager, this is a bit of grey area.

What did you want the privacy setting to be? I could just change it for you.

Well I am probably to blame for them deleting themselves as Profile Manager on their own account.  In the interest of trying to keep things as simple as possible I have been having my mother use my login to fill her side of the family tree out so that we avoid having her as being the sole profile manager on part of our family and me on the other part, and also trying to avoid the confusion of making sure we added each other as "dual" profile managers to any and all entries we have made (are making). So as part of that we tried to make so that we could "manage" my father's profile from my login and she may have done one too many things in trying to make that happen.  If you could change it to the "Cream" colored - Private with Pub Bio and Pub Tree I would appreciate it.  I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this caused.
