The Family History Photo of the Week Project is a way to highlight some of the interesting photos that get uploaded to WikiTree each week.

If you love old photos or if you have photos in your own family collection that you love, join our Family History Photo of the Week Project! You can share and vote on them in the G2G and in our Family History Photo of the Week Facebook group .

I would like to join this project. and have the badge. I have been scanning and sourcing old family photographs and have started to add them to profiles in the tree. I loved some of the photographs I came across last weekend during the clean-a-thon.

Would love to join in! I love sharing and viewing old photos. You get to see history come alive in them, even if it's just a portrait. You see what that time period by had been like by what is being worn.

I'm a photographer and I love all photos, but the old ones are especially dear to me. I'd love to join the group. I just spent all morning tracing down the ancestry on this photo on eBay : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Albumen-Photo-of-3-Soldiers-in-Uniform-with-Swords-IDd-from-Alabama/391845504186?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 I believe the photo to be two brothers and another young man from Richmond, VA.. Any Peyton family members should see if they are in their tree. I believe them to Bernard and Randolph Peyton, born in 1862 and 1864 to Thomas Green Peyton (1832-1900) and Cary Anne Carr Peyton (1825-1907) I wish we had a way to notify others when we find surnames photos.... Please sign me up!

I would like to join ansd I would also like to vote on the pictures. I believe that pictures are a big part of a profile or a tree. They make you feel that you are back in that time period and makes you feel like you may know the people or places in the pictures.

I love old family photos and the glimpse they provide us into the lives of our ancestors.   I have spent many hours organizing all my old family photos into protective albums to preserve them for future generations.  I would very much enjoy participating in the Family History Photo of the Week Project!  Thank you!

Love to join this fun project.  Old photos tell so much.  Clothing, habits, toys, furniture, decorating styles, and so much more can be captured in what may at first seem like an ordinary photo.  That captured moment may hold many secrets.  It would be fun to see them and vote on unusually interesting or special ones.
