I have a Benjamin Stearn, born 29 July 1890 in New York, NY. He married a Frieda Behrens (born 23 June 1891, in New Jersey) on 18 Sept 1909. According to his draft card he was born 29 Jul 1890 in New York, New York. His marriage cert. lists his name as Stearn but his father's name as Louis Stern and mother Unknown. A search for a birth or death cert. has turned up empty. After his WW2 draft card he becomes untraceable.
His relationship with a Louis Stern – whose name is connected with Hebrew Orphanages – and the fact that he didn’t even know his mother’s name, cause me to suspect that he may be an orphan. Would you agree with me or am I reading too much into it?
