Protected Project - Request for Disconnect

Question

Hi there,

Would someone please be kind enough to detached Ezekiel Northend (Northend-3) from his non-father, John Norton (Norton-3838) and also to divorce said John Norton from Elizabeth Cole (Cole-350) as she isn't his wife?  She is properly married elsewhere, so removing John Norton from this family is all that seems to be necessary.  Thank you!

I think more information is needed.  I gather that you believe that John Northend and John Norton are not the same people.  Wife Elizabeth Cole is shown married to both.  Except for the Last Name At Birth, the dates for the Johns are exactly the same, so if these aren't the same man, there are other problems.  

Neither of the profiles for John are sourced.  Do you have sources showing that these two men are different people?  Could it be that John Norton has the wrong LNAB and the wrong parents? Are the parents for John Norton the correct ones or are the ones for John Northend?

I had gone around about this earlier with the Edward III project post.  John Norton and John Northend, per a couple of contributors, have been conflated wrongly.  (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/362357/edward-iii-project-gateway-ancestors-do-you-have-one?start=20#a_list_title, 2nd page, where discussion ensues regarding the whole Northend thingie.)

Hi Vic, clearly these two need to be disconncted.  There are other problems, mainly on the Norton end whose dates have been adjusted to match John Northend.

I added some lines from the Great Migration Newsletter, 18:22 in which Anderson reports that Ezekiel was the son of John Northend and Elizabeth Cole. 

Seems there are two different men conflated here.  We do have a John Northend-9 which looks more appropriate for the man in question.

There was also a Rev. John Norton, featured in Anderson's Great Migration ... Vol M-P pp who was born on 6 May 1606, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, a son of William Norton.

I've added some notes to the profile (and also to Ezekiel's).

I went ahead and detached the marriage between Elizabeth Cole-350 and John Norton-3838.  Also changed the father of Ezekiel Northend-3 to John Northend-9 and began spiffing up the profiles a little.  Hope this is helpful.

Awesome, thanks, Cynthia.  Although it was more of a "confused blunder" than a "catch" on my part, Cynthia!  Joe Cochoit (sp?) actually got me to go back and push the issue.  I'm still pretty new to the UK side of the Pond.
