David Appleton Mariner

Can anyone help with with David Appleton (my 3x great grandfather)

I am having a real problem tracing his family.  He was born at Devonport.  He was a Mariner in the Royal Navy and Devonport was a busy sea port.

I am trying so many options and wondering if his father was also a sea man but I am having real problems.

David Appleton married Mary Ann Munyard in 1817 in Deptford where he is listed 'at sea'.  On leaving ships he became a clerk at Somerset Hse for the Navy, working at Devonport.  I have his family but not his parents.

Would really appreciate any ideas

Hi Janet!

Have you thought about becoming a member of WikiTree (it's free) and creating profiles for these family members?

WikiTree profiles are usually one of the very first results to show up in searches like Google so they are a great way to make connections with other people researching the same person/line.

If you're interested in joining you could start here.

Just a suggestion! :)
