Was there an error in gedcom imports that merged info on generations?

Not sure what to put this under....But I've seen quite a few profiles created by gedcom imports where info in the biography seems to be from the parents rather than the profile subject. (ex. listing under marriage, the parents marriage or listing the profile subject and all their siblings under the heading "Children")

I'm wondering if there was some kind of import error at one time?

I'm not sure if it was an error, but a while ago, if you imported a GEDCOM and the subject had parents, both the marriage and children of the subject AND the marriage and children of the parents were shown on the subject's profile.  This no longer happens.

I think this has more to do with the workings of the site/software that those GEDCOMs were exported from.

One comes across them now and then while data Doctoring.
