My Great Grandmother was a huge part of my mother's childhood but we don't know much about her past and her ancestors and I'm having a lot of trouble finding anything about her.
She was born in 1896.
According to a family story she was born in a workhouse in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, UK. I have no idea whether this is true or just a family tale!
She married Thomas Arthur Cryer in Gabalfa, Cardiff, Wales in 1911 and they had between 13 and 15 children depending on which of my relatives you ask.
We believe most of her life was spent in Cardiff.
She lived with her daughter Eileen (my grandmother) towards the end of her life before dying on June 28th, 1976. She was particularly fond of my mother and they were very close until her death when my mother was 17.
My mother has a memory of childhood visits from an "Auntie Nancy" and possibly two other aunts who may have been called May and Phoebe.
I would appreciate any information at all about my great-grandmother or any of her family that anybody may have. My mother would love to know more about her grandmother as they lived together for most of my mothers youth
