A shout out to those of you with Pre-1500 badges....

Have you seen https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/370415/will-you-register-for-the-spring-clean-a-thon?

It is a weekend to focus on our Pre-1500 profiles and work those errors!

Who is in it with me?

Nice, thanks Robin!
FYI- so the spring cleaning follows the old saying...."people who live in glass houses should not throw stones"....everyone with a Pre-1500 badge should first work their own errors....go to http://www.sdms.si:92/default.htm, and hit the tab on the left that says managed by....put in your ID and work those errors first.   That will help you learn how to do the cleaning....then you can move on to Pre-1500 profiles...
If you will make a team, I can prepare you the list of errors.

I have another possibility to get errors by century, so pre 1500 can be even divided in a few groups.

I also have a way to identify profile as pre1500 even if there is no date entered. It is done based on relatives, so I can include also those errors. They are now in 0000-0000 group.

Aleš,   That would be wonderful! Having a list of "potentials" would help.   Thanks for all you do!

Lists are potentially gigantic.

I tried looking at the error reports on Normandie-32 and Carolingian-77, but they both run into trouble at Robertian-1, about Generation 4 or 5.

That is because people use HTML formating in the biography. I will try to fix it.
It is fixed.
As always....Thank you so much!
Will you have the team page. I prepared the error lists for you.
Yes, we will have a team page....I will try to get it set up today...
Robin - I sent you a PM about this yesterday, offering to set it up if you wanted one.  Didn't want to tread on any toes if you wanted to do it yourself - just offerin'.
Our page....you can start practicing with your own watchlist errors, like I am!!!!

I added error lists. Not all errors are in 0000-1500 group. Profiles listed in other groups have relative or some other date (not birth) that results in estimated date beeing before 1500.

Robin Lee, http://www.sdms.si:92/default.htm I just get a 404 Error code and page will not load.

John, this is active URL for WikiTree+

So, Robin:

Does it mean absolutely any error at all, as long as the profile it's on is pre-1500?

And is there a way we can filter these pre-1500s out, or do we just have to look down the list of errors and pick out the pre-1500 ones?

All of the data base error are listed by century...see last weeks...https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Database_Errors_Project_2017-03-26, you can see the column that is 0001-1499....those are the errors that the folks with Pre-1500 certification would concentrate on....
re link above - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Database_Errors_Project_2017-03-26, = error 404 "We're sorry. The page you were looking for was moved or deleted, or there is a typo in the URL."

However, I did fix the Willis profile - simple  error
OK, I'm in! (I have already signed up and been badged)  Count me on your team, Robin.

I'll be working on Error 811 (Uncleaned profile after merge) as that is my favourite one.  I love the little frisson of feeling that a PM/reader will possibly be able to see what they are doing when there aren't four copies of everything on the same profile.

There shouldn't be comma at the end.

Also Robin,  http://www.sdms.si:92/default.htm is very old and is not used (it might still work) It is now called Wikitree+ http://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm

Is there a way to use an ancestor-ID, and have the error report run forward through the descendants ?

You ban't limit it only to descendants only. You can however limit it to blood relatives. it is done on Wikitree+ http://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm

@Trtnik

Would it be possible to run your error report more than once a week during the clean a thon.  I am running into a lot of errors that have been fixed but are still showing on the report, so I'm spending time just changing the status.  Now I am also guilty of this because sometimes I fix an error and that fix propigates to 5-6 children but I haven't changed there status.  Yes I found the check boxes but that was on the second day of doing this.

If your servers won't melt down from all the crunching it would be handy due to all the changes taking place, maybe on Thursday night, so its clean for the weekend.
No. It takes a day and a half to do that and another 4 hours to export the data from Wikitree. Last few days there is a lot of activity, since people are learning DB_Errors project and during recalculations also everything doesn't work.

Also sunday's dump was moved to after CAT so on wednesday we will know how much was corrected.

I will recreate error lists each day, so the ones that were marked solved will disappear. It takes cca 5 hours to do that.
Your doing a fantastic job!

Thanks

Happy to help - but how does one spot pre-1500 profiles unless actually working with a family?

found one - Thomas Gooch https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gooch-660

See answer above....make sure you have worked your own family errors first....

Hopefully, for the spring cleaning the pre-1500 group will be working on profiles other than just the ones they manage.  If you go to the weekly error report (most recent 26 March 2017), you will see the errors are divided both by type and by a date range.  So it is easy to pick a category of errors that you would like to work on and then click on the pre-1500 errors.

thanks - been doing that
Please make sure to use the "status" button after a correction to hide the error, and explain the correction you made.

Hi Robin,  I am already on the Dust Bunny Team tackling the 900 errors.  But if you have any pre-1500 that also show a 900 error, feel free to shoot me a private email or I think you may have my direct email which you can also use.     There were over 28k 901s this week so we are trying to do some major dent into those off the error list.  But I am happy to help with any that cross over into both.

900 errors can't be pre 1500. There are no dates and no relatives on the profile.
Ales I am thinking that if we see a date in the bio section or sources that indicates this is a pre-1500 profile, I would as for it to be opened as it definitely is beyond the 200 years of a privacy setting.  Then fix it.

I will, unfortunately, be "out of pocket" that weekend.

But I am working on pre 1500 errors now.

Thanks Robin for starting this team, I'd love to help by working on some pre-1500 profiles.

I'm thinking of working on some of the Wikidata comparisons because often I think Wikitree is correct and Wikidata actually has the error.  Unless you think it might be of greater benefit for most people to work on the same set of errors?

I'd love to join. I have to work the Saturday European daytime, but other than that, I'm yours.

Well, actually, 12:01 EDT is 17:01 UK time, so you should be all right.

Oops - of course, 12:01 is lunchtime, so 00:01 (just after midnight EDT) is 05:01 (early a.m. BST).  Makes me happier that I can start earlier...
