They would need to be converted to an image file, then uploaded.

Note that WikiTree is a bit different from those other genealogy websites where you put proof documents in a folder and then link facts to the documents. The biography you create in a profile here can (and should) (1) provide a textual description of the person's life and (2) describe the contents of the source documents where you got your information. Just as we did when writing research papers in school, we should present our information and provide good bibliographic citations to our sources. (My teachers wouldn't have appreciated it if I simply handed in copies of my source materials, and it's likely that our families and descendants would also like to read our synthesis of the sources.)
