Taylors of Virginia, possibly Culpeper County?

I'm looking for my Great Grandmother's grandfather, J.B. Taylor Sr. and his ancestors.

My great grandmother's name was Mary Eliza Taylor (Taylor-37850) b. 1877, I think in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana.  She married John Scott Thompson.  Her parents and the Thompsons both lived in East Feliciana Parish, her parents in Clinton and the Thompsons in Plains.

Her father was John Barber Taylor (Taylor-37881) also born in Louisiana, in 1846.   He uses the suffix "Jr." on his marriage license.

Interestingly, my grandmother's sister (Thompson-32262) married Henry Barber Young (Young-22574), so I have a feeling that the "Barber" name might have had some special significance in that community.

In the 1860 US Census John Barber Taylor Jr is living with his parents, father J.B. Taylor born in Virginia, and wife, possibly "A" Taylor, born in Mississippi, both 48 years old, so both born about 1812.

I have not successfully located death records for J.B. Taylor Sr or his wife.

I stumbled upon some random emails from 1999 in rootsweb that mention Barbour family marrying Taylor family several times in Culpeper County Virginia, but nothing that truly fit there, but the names Barbour and Taylor are strongly associated together.

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/TAYLOR/1999-03/0921394206

Most of what I have came from The Thompson Book http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bhusler/Bill/Surname_Sources/Thompson/~barneyt/bo-c14.txt

as well as "The Plains and The People" by Virginia Lobdell Jennings.

And I have Mary Eliza Taylor Thompson's bible, pictures of pages are attached to the WikiTree profiles, but what is there begins with her marriage.

There are some additional details on the WikiTree pages, deaths, gravesites, census records.  Maybe I've overlooked something, but I don't think so.

Any help is appreciated.  I've called cousins I haven't talked to in 45 years and cousins I didn't know existed.  This is a brick wall.

Thanks

Any mention of Taylors in Virginia piques my interest. I have an obscure Taylor connection from colonial times (Quakers) that I would like to push back in time..
With Eddie's help I definitely found my Taylor's in Virginia and I think I have most of it in WikiTree now.   Hope it helped you too.
Hugs and a smooch on your cheek. ;-)

If you have Colonial Taylors in Culpepper County, Virginia, then you may belong to the greater Elizabeth Taylor (actor) -Zachary Taylor (President) tree.

Interesting.  Zachary Taylor is my 4th cousin 6 times removed on my mother's side.   The Taylors are on my dad's side.  I shall endeavor to ascertain.
                I belong to those Taylors.
