These are my great grandparents.  They married in 1910 when grandma was 15 in South Dakota.  Grandpa was a railroad man and had ended up in that area temporarily from his home in Western Maryland.  The couple returned to Cumberland, Maryland and had a plethora of children before they divorced in the 1930s.

I met my great grandmother Myrtle when I was a wee tyke.  She died in 1984  at the age of 89 when I was six years old.  I consider it a great honor to have met all four of my great grandmothers, the last of which passed in 1994.

I wanted to share this family photo of Myrtle Kearns with the community. Location: unknown. Date: unknown.

I've been dabbling in this research a few years now into the four branches of my family (Hamilton/Lowery/VanPelt/Phares).  My efforts have been ramped up of late as I'm trying to gather the required information to join the DAR.  Just wanted to share and say hello!
