my ancestor stated he was born 1843 kilbrittain cork ireland to catherine mehegan and david crowley, no records exist, where do i go next?

What is the name of the person who is the son of David Crowley and Catherine Mehegan?

There was a David and Catherine Crowley that had a son, Dennis F. Crowley, but that was in PA.
