Is it possible to let a poster know if a post to a message has been made?

RJ Horace was mentioning he (or she) had trouble realizing how much time s/he's spent composing an answer or question and consequently often has messages cross in posting.  I have the same problem and I'm sure many others here do too.  Now since posts have some sort of time stamp, would it be too much trouble to have the system check to see if another change has been made to a main post before adding a new answer or comment and issuing a warning if there has been?  This would result in better quality to G2G as a whole.

Very often happens to me
This happens to me a lot.  It would be great to have something that alerted that the page had changes made.  As a work around, I refresh the page right after I post my answer and then edit my answer if need be.

Hi Dave,

Some time ago I suggested to have a Preview button for  G2G boxes.

It'd be great if we had this button and when hitting the button it'd also refresh the screen to show the updates made to the post in the meantime we were working on the edition box.
