name change from Avery to Reece

+1 vote
My Grandfather Clifford Reece always told us that our name was Avery.  An ancestor of his was to young to go to war and changed his name so his family would not find out.  I can go back to Jacob Isaac Reece born in New York in 1835.  I believe his father was an Avery and probably fought in the War of 1812.

Any help finding a connection would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Sandy!

Have you thought about becoming a member of WikiTree (it's free) and creating profiles for these family members you do have information for?

WikiTree profiles are usually one of the very first results to show up in searches like Google so they are a great way to make connections with other people researching the same person/line.

If you're interested in joining you could start here.

Just a suggestion! :)
