Was this Timothy Pennington the father of Asa Pennington who married Rachel Lane?

Some Ancestry trees say Benajah Pennington, born 1726 in North Carolina, was Timothy's father.  You say Ephraim V was his father.  I do not know what to do, but I need to know if this is the correct Timothy Pennington for my line.  I have proved back to Asa, but I have not proved that Asa is the son of Timothy.
