The reference to Cooper derives from the Will of John Billingsley where he mentions his mother in law as Katherine Cooper.John's first wife was Jane Hull daughter of Abraham Hull and Katherine Hull. On Abrahams death Katherine remarried Nicholas Cooper and became Katherine Cooper. Agatha who went to Holland was not a Cooper.I do not know her maiden name but her first husband was an Englishman name of Utley and it was with him that she went to Rotterdam. He died and she remarried a dutchman. He died and she remarried a Billingsley. However that Billingsley is almost certainly not the John whose Will refers to Katherine Cooper

sources to seacrch in archive.org for clues     1.OLD MARYLAND FAMILIES   2.GENEALOGIES OF THE MEMBERS AND RECORD OF SERVICES OF ANCESTORS-MARYLAND     3.GENEALOGICAL AND MEMORIAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND    4.ARCHIVES OF MARYLAND(12 volumes online)
Thanks Catherine!!  I know what I'll be doing tomorrow :D
Catherine - what's the trick for finding these references? I've tried all kinds of search combinations at archive.org and haven't been able to find a one.
do you mean you can't find the titles I listed for this question? Or are you in need of tips for finding more?
I can't find the titles you listed.
GO TO  archive.org    NOT DOT COM.DOT COM IS THE MORMON THING.   at archive dot org   on the upper left  I typed in Maryland Families and a list of titles came up.  I then typed in Maryland archives and the multi-volume set came up.  I just tried it and typing in the titles above , they came up.
Thanks! Have now found

1. Old Maryland Families - https://archive.org/details/oldmarylandfamil00inbrom

and

4. Archives of Maryland (well, I found 10 pages of results for "maryland archives" - still looking through the 1,175 entries for one that includes anything on cooper or ferrers)

Ms.  COOPER,

Have you ever thought of Ireland as to where from the surname had originated?  I have a TWISS/COOPER Connection in the 1700's in Kerry and an eastern Irish Cty. (unfortunately at this point, I do not recall it, as it was the wife who had moved to Cty. Kerry.

This is merely a suggestion.

I wish the very best in your research.  :)
