GEDmatch is the kind of site most longtime computer professionals prefer, with a simple and clean textual interface that is quick to pop up.  It's designed to be informational and productive, not look pretty.  I have to admit I'm very surprised that you are having problems with it, especially being an IT professional, so I have to believe you may have started with some conceptual misunderstandings, perhaps as to what a GEDCOM is and is not, and the 3 main types of DNA tests (GEDmatch only handles one of them).

I suspect you may work best with a step by step procedure, so try this:  Connecting_DNA_Test_Results_to_WikiTree_Profiles
