GEDCOM upload problem: "no readable birth dates"

Question

I have uploaded several GEDCOMs in the last few days.

They are mostly not intended for import just yet but I am checking data quality and matching.

In any case, each time I load a gedcom, the status page says the GEDCOM has no readable birth dates.

This is obviously incorrect since the GEDCOM Compare report contains lots of valid dates.

Most recent example is has gu_id=86854:

... was uploaded by Aloysius Neve 2017-04-20 16:58:46. The raw GEDCOM is 3077 bytes. It contains 6 individuals with no readable birth dates. It doesn't include any sources.

What format is the date in your gedcom?  Is it compatible with the style guide for dates in WikiTree?

It could be your format in the gedcom does not match WikiTree allowable formats.

Yes, I just uploaded a similar GEDCOM .

gu_id is 86932

The status message is:

It contains 6 individuals with no readable birth dates. It includes 4 sources.

Most of the dates have format "ABT 1909" (or similar)

One of them has a complete (good) date as far as I can see:

Thanks. That is curious. The report also seems to see dates before 1500 and 1700.

It looks to me like the problem is with the BIRT tag in the GEDCOM. The standard allows either "1 BIRT" or "1 BIRT Y" ... however, if the latter format is used, the GEDCOM import complains that the date is not readable (even though it actually seems to process it correctly).
