Where did H. Middleton GREER, b.1822, SC, or son John T. GREER, b.1840, GA, die?

Henry Middleton GREER, b.~1822, Spartanburg Co., SC, was prob. the youngest child of Robert GREER & wife Anna Isabelle KILGORE GREER.  He was called Middleton and married Rachael MAHAFFEY on 7 Feb 1839.  They moved to GA where they had four children, but Rachael died sometime fairly soon after the last birth.  The three youngest were returned to Greenville, SC, where they lived back and forth between the two sets of g'parents who lived near each other.    Middleton and eldest son John T.   GREER returned to GA, and the trail grows cold there.  Did they leave GA?  Did they die  early or did they serve from GA in the WTBS?  Any help with them is greatly  appreciated.  I have info on the rest of the family which I would be happy to share.  Thank you! Dolores M. Pringle, GG-grandaughter of Middleton's brother and Rachael's sister, William GREER and Edy MAHAFFEY GREER.

Betty, I am not sure either, but this does give me something to compare to some old notes I have.  Thank you very much.  This may be both father and son in these two answers!  How wonderfully blessed would I be?   Dolores M. Pringle
Thank you so much!  I am going to check some old records I have, and also see if I can find anything else.  Dolores
Welcome, wish I could have found more! :)
