Clean-a-thon burnout

Just like after the Source-a-thon, I'm feeling the burn. Anyone else, or is this just me? I need a day to reset, so I believe I'll be sourcing or working on my own tree or something.

I can't wait to see the final totals on our progress. Great job, everyone.

Yes, tired but it was fun.

I worked on "died before birth". Many of the profiles were unsourced so it took some digging!

My hands (fingers) hurt!

Everybody did a great job, all the teams!

I was a little worried that profiles might get screwed up with so many folks working and at a fevers pitch,  But all the profiles I have seen so far look good for the effort.

Again Great job everybody.

I found a couple that I had to restore, and yes I did fix them the right way again, but most that I saw were good fixes. The bad ones were not "wrong" but rather newer members removing things they should have left in. Overall it was more good than bad from what I have seen.
I had to ice my hand and take Tylenol on Saturday!  Everyone did a great job, especially the team, A Rose by Any Other Name  (my team, Go Roses!, I know - shameful plug.).

Hope this challenge will become a regular thing.  I think Wikitree benefitted greatly.
My everything hurts!  I need an ice bath!  Way to go on your hard work Carolyn!
Emma, i am sure you are hurting. You did 3 or 4 times what I did.  Don't know how you did it honestly.
Carolyn, I honestly don't know either, especially since I had to work from bed due to health challenges.  If I figure it out, I will let you know ;-)

My server is bored. I see you are all resting. There were so many visitors during the weekend and now it is all alone.

Great job everyone. Errors are being recalculated. Reduction on error number will be known tomorrow. I will also update error lists on the team pages, if someone want's to continue working on themed error lists.

For the future, I will prepare different solution for custom error reports for each country, project,...

Thank you so much Aleš Trtnik!!

This was my first time working on database errors. Thanks for helping get me up to speed & your patience with all my questions/requests to get everything in place for Team Virginia before - and during - the Clean-a-Thon. Definitely want to continue working on Virginia location errors!

Cheers, Liz

Yes, thank you, Aleš Trtnik!

LOL, Aleš.  I would think your server would enjoy a day of rest!
Servers don't wanna rest, they've got a need for speed!
Get some sleep!  I have heard (read) numerous people saying they are going to continue to work the errors...  Great job and the server won't be bored for long!

Thanks again for EVERYTHING you do.
I was crashing myself today Aleš. Now I got to give my email a little love after neglecting it for the clean-a-thon. Thank you ahead of time for adding updated lists to the Team pages. I was actually hoping they would stay up so I could back to it.

I don't know that I would say burnout, but definitely hangover! ;) It was my first "thon" and what a wonderful experience. I learned a LOT and have much, much more to learn and explore. Until this weekend my main use of WikiTree and goal has been to copy over my very large tree from Ancestry, one profile at a time and have been sending family here to view the tree, rather than Ancestry, as it's a much less intimidating format and of course they love the links to see the notables they are related to. My "Thank You" feed has been blowing up from the corrections -- nearly 150 received at this point and still coming in! What an amazing group effort and amazing dedication that you all have to this project. Looking forward to more "thon"s -- I'm very competitive, so ladies in the top 4 I'm coming for you next round! ;)

and you did AMAZING! Nice "chatting" with you in the hangouts :D
Thanks! You too!
Your team was amazing!
Thanks! Yours too! All of the teams were amazing!
Bring it on!  More competition only makes us work that much harder.  Would love to see you in the pack :-)
Absolutely! Nothing wrong with a little healthy competition. ;)
It just means more work done for the tree, right? ;-)
Absolutely! So a win win for everyone! ;) I have the error correction bug now. lol

Well, after the Source-a-thon, I have noticed much more participation in the sourcing effort, so maybe the Clean-a-thon will have a similar effect on data doctoring!

I enjoy both, and have learned so much by regularly taking part in both. THere's just so much to fix!
by Natalie Trott G2G Astronaut (1.3m points)
Omg --- soooooo many to fix! I had no idea there were so many errors out there. Then again I only recently discovered my own error report and I'm sure there are many more like me that don't realize it's there. ;) Looking forward to participating in both in the future.
i know i'm hooked now!

I failed to reach my personal goal so I will continue until I do.

Haha same here Rod, I kept bumping into some very distracting and never ending rabbit holes, so no quick fixes but a whole lot of work and research and cleaning up or both to do .

Received a tip from one of my fellow team members to stick to just one or two (normally easy to fix) sorts of errors during the Clean-a-Thon and it worked, was able to correct hundreds of errors in just the last few hours ..instead of just one or two a day :P

And Nathalie, yes tired here as well, I think we all are, but we all love the team work and the great and so positive vibe these events bring along, so afterwards we will really have to get used to our days without the daily contact and chatting eeh .

Thanks everyone for the wonderful work it was a great weekend and the result is awesome, so you all are winners and can be really proud !
